Family Practitioner Services
Family Practitioner Services provides a range of support functions on behalf of the Health Boards, to Medical, Dental and Ophthalmic Practitioners and Pharmacists. Their main functions include; registration of patients, processing and payment of Dental and Ophthalmic claim forms; payment of Doctors fees and allowances; processing and payment of prescription items and providing information to Boards, the Professions and the HSS Executive.

FPS Directorate consists of Medical, Dental, Ophthalmic and Pharmaceutical Services. We are responsible for payments to practitioners and provision of information services to the Health and Social Services Boards and the Department of Health and Social Services & Public Safety. We also register patients onto doctors’ lists and issue Medical Cards.
